Central Asia extends from the Caspian Sea to western China and brings together vast Eurasian landscapes, nomadic traditions, ancient cities and cultural crossroads. This tour is designed for travelers who want to see the natural and historical diversity of all five Stan countries in one route.

Itinerary

Day 1 · Almaty

Arrival at Almaty Airport. Almaty layover tour with Panfilov Park, Zenkov Cathedral, World War II Memorial, shopping at Green bazaar and dinner. Overnight in Almaty.

Day 2 · Almaty to Saty

After breakfast transfer to Saty village via Charyn Canyon. Enjoy Kolsai Lake, accommodation and dinner. Overnight in Saty.

Day 3 · Saty to Karakol

Cross the Kegen border into Kyrgyzstan and transfer to Karakol. Visit the Wooden Orthodox Church and Dungan Mosque. Overnight in Karakol.

Day 4 · Karakol to Chon-Kemin

Visit Jety Oguz, Barskoon Gorge and Fairy Tale Canyon. Optional eagle hunting show in Bokonbayevo. Continue to Chon-Kemin. Overnight in Chon-Kemin.

Day 5 · Chon-Kemin to Bishkek

Free time around the National Park, then drive to Bishkek with a stop at Orlovka Hills. Optional Issyk Ata and nomad horse game if available. Overnight in Bishkek.

Day 6 · Bishkek to Osh

Bishkek sightseeing with Philharmonic, Ala-Too Square, Old Square and TSUM shopping. Flight to Osh. Overnight in Osh.

Day 7 · Osh to Margilan

Cross the Dustlik border into Uzbekistan. Visit Asaka for a cooking masterclass and lunch, then continue to Margilan. Silk Factory and Old Margilan Bazaar. Overnight in Margilan.

Day 8 · Margilan to Kokand

Travel through Altyaryk grape gardens in season. Visit Rishtan pottery and Khudayar Khan Palace in Kokand. Overnight in Kokand.

Day 9 · Kokand to Tashkent

Express train to Tashkent. Half-day city tour with Tashkent metro, Amir Timur Square, Friendship Square, Tashkent City and Magic City parks. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 10 · Tashkent to Dushanbe

Flight to Dushanbe. Visit Navruz Palace and the Antiquities Museum. Dinner and overnight in Dushanbe.

Day 11 · Dushanbe

Visit Hissar Fortress and Old Madrassah, Rudaki Park, Somoni Statue and enjoy free time for shopping. Overnight in Dushanbe.

Day 12 · Dushanbe to Samarkand

Transfer toward Penjikent with views of the Fan Mountains and Iskandarkul Lake. Cross into Uzbekistan and drive to Samarkand. Optional Registan 7D show. Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 13 · Samarkand

Visit Gur Emir Mausoleum, Registan Square, No. 1 Plov Center, Siab Bazaar, Meros Paper Mill and carpet factory. Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 14 · Samarkand to Bukhara

Train to Bukhara. Old Bukhara walking tour with Miri-Arab Madrasah, Magoki-Attori Mosque, Ulugbek and Abdulaziz Khan madrasahs, Poi-Kalyon and Lyabi-Khauz. Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 15 · Bukhara to Ashgabat by Night Train

Free time in Bukhara, transfer to Farab border, meet Turkmen guide and continue to Turkmenabat Railway Station. Night train to Ashgabat. Overnight in the cabin. (Optional: by extra payment we can book domestic flight to Ashgabat and one extra night hotel accommodation.)

Day 16 · Ashgabat

Arrive in Ashgabat. Visit the Spiritual Mosque, Monument of Neutrality and Independence Park. Shopping time, dinner and overnight in Ashgabat.

Day 17 · Ashgabat to Gas Crater

Visit the National Museum of History, then transfer to the gas and water craters. Dinner near the crater. Accommodation at yurt camp or transfer to Dashoguz hotel. Overnight near crater or in Dashoguz.

Day 18 · Dashoguz to Khiva

Cross the Shavat border and drive to Khiva. Walking tour of Ichan Kala with Kunya-Ark, Alauddin Khan Mausoleum and Juma Mosque. Overnight in Khiva.

Day 19 · Khiva Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure flight from Khiva or transfer to Nukus Airport for a direct flight to Almaty, depending on airline schedule. End of tour.

Budget option: Almaty, Saty, Karakol, Chon-Kemin, Bishkek, Margilan, Kokand, Tashkent, Dushanbe, Samarkand, Bukhara and Ashgabat in budget 4* hotels or guesthouses.
Tourist option: upgraded 4* hotels where available, including Kazzhol / Plaza, Grand Kolsai, Green Yard / 78 Hotel, Plaza / Garden, Atlas / Adras, Inspira S / Central Palace, Orient Star / Golden Samarkand, Sahid Zarafshon / Garden Plaza and Archabil or similar.

Best Time

Spring and autumn are generally the most comfortable seasons across Central Asia. Kyrgyzstan is best for outdoor travel from June to September.

Visas

Visa requirements differ by nationality and country. Turkmenistan invitation letters are included, while some other visa support is not included.
