Itinerary

Day 1 — Almaty, Charyn Canyon and Saty

Route: Almaty — Charyn Canyon — Saty

Meeting at the hotel lobby or at the airport. Greeting and transfer to Charyn Canyon. On the way, you will see different canyon shapes and enjoy a short walk in the canyon. Continue to Saty village. Upon arrival, visit Kolsai Lake, known for its clear shimmering blue waters surrounded by peaceful conifer forests. Accommodation and dinner at a guesthouse. Overnight in Saty.

Day 2 — Kaindy Lake and Return to Almaty

Route: Saty — Kaindy Lake — Almaty

After breakfast, visit Kaindy Lake, an ethereal body of water best known for its vivid turquoise color and the barren, pole-like remnants of trees rising from the lake. Transfer back to Almaty. On the way, stop at Bayseyit village for lunch. Enjoy a leisurely walk or visit a local family to experience Kazakh hospitality. Arrival in Almaty. End of tour.

Best Time to Visit

Spring, April–May, and autumn, September–October, are ideal for exploring mountains, lakes and Almaty city. Summer, June–August, is warm and good for hiking, but can be crowded. Winter is cold and better suited for winter activities around Almaty.

The Almaty Region has a continental climate. Summers are warm and dry, while winters are cold with occasional snow, especially in mountain areas. Most rain falls in spring and early summer.
