Discover one of the least-visited and most authentic regions of Uzbekistan. The fertile Fergana Valley is known for its traditional crafts, historic cities, colourful bazaars, mountain landscapes and welcoming communities.

This private tour combines the palaces of Kokand, the famous pottery workshops of Rishtan, the silk traditions of Margilan and the natural scenery of the Chimgan Mountains.

Tour Itinerary

A five-day journey through the historic cities, craft centres and mountain landscapes of eastern Uzbekistan.

DAY 1 Arrival in Tashkent

Welcome to Uzbekistan! Meet your guide or driver at Tashkent International Airport after completing the arrival formalities.

Transfer to the hotel and enjoy time to rest after your flight. Overnight in Tashkent.

DAY 2 Tashkent – Kokand – Rishtan – Margilan

In the morning, depart from Tashkent for Kokand by train. Kokand is one of the most important historic cities of the Fergana Valley.

Visit the Khudayar Khan Palace, one of the last great architectural monuments of the Kokand Khanate, and the Dakhma-i-Shahon necropolis, also known as the Grave of the Kings.

Continue to Rishtan, a town famous for its centuries-old ceramic tradition. Discover local pottery decorated with geometric patterns, plant motifs and traditional blue glazes.

Continue to Margilan. Dinner and overnight in Margilan.

DAY 3 Margilan – Asaka – Tashkent

After breakfast, begin a sightseeing tour of Margilan, historically one of the most important silk-producing centres on the Great Silk Road.

Visit a traditional silk factory and learn how silk thread, fabrics and decorative patterns are produced. Continue to Margilan Bazaar for an introduction to local products and everyday life.

Transfer towards Asaka and visit a traditional choykhana, or teahouse. Enjoy lunch at a panoramic location.

In the late afternoon, return to Tashkent by express train, private vehicle or flight, depending on the confirmed programme. Hotel accommodation and overnight in Tashkent.

DAY 4 Chimgan Mountains and Charvak Reservoir

After breakfast, travel from Tashkent to the Chimgan Mountains through picturesque villages, gardens and mountain landscapes.

If operating, take the cableway through the Beldersay Gorge towards Kumbel Peak and enjoy time for a walk in the mountain area.

Continue to Charvak Reservoir, surrounded by green mountain slopes and popular recreation areas.

Return to Tashkent. Dinner and overnight in Tashkent.

DAY 5 Departure from Tashkent

After breakfast, enjoy free time for shopping and leisure. Check out of the hotel and transfer to Tashkent International Airport.

End of the tour. Khayr, Sog‘ bo‘ling — traditional Uzbek farewell and good wishes!

Best time to visit

Spring and autumn usually offer the most comfortable conditions for visiting the Fergana Valley. Gardens are especially attractive in spring, while late summer and autumn are associated with the harvest season.

Weather and clothing

The valley can be hot in summer, while mountain areas are usually cooler. Bring comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and an additional warm layer for the Chimgan Mountains.

Local crafts and bazaars

Rishtan is famous for handmade ceramics, while Margilan is one of Uzbekistan’s most important centres of traditional silk production.

Ask permission before photographing artisans and confirm prices before purchasing ceramics, silk products or other handmade goods.

Transport and mountain activities

The final choice of train, flight or private vehicle depends on availability and the confirmed itinerary.

Cableway operation in the Chimgan Mountains depends on weather, maintenance and local operating conditions.
